Drive long enough down the Kenai Peninsula, and eventually you’ll find yourself at the Homer Spit, one of the most beautiful Stand Up Paddle Boarding locations in Alaska.
Humbled by surrounding mountains, this beauty isn’t met without challenge. The waves are choppy and the tide shifts from high to low quickly, and fishing boats continually remind you whose larger on the water. However, if you’re up for the challenge, leaving Lands End behind and immersing yourself in this Alaska Landscape truly makes for one of the top SUP Experiences Alaska has to offer.
We launched from ‘Lands End’ Parking lot:
Paddle on,
Court & John
Our Gear for this trip: Tahoe inflatable SUP | Super Paddles Carbon Elite| Kokatat Men’s Tropos SuperNova Paddling Suit | Sea to Summit Dry Sack

Bonus Info: Paddle and stay on your own stretch of the sand! We recommend Beach Camping, on the southwest side of the Spit, giving you some of the most amazing sunsets right outside your very own tent window, alongside fire pits surrounded by driftwood benches.
The camping is on a first come basis, and is $20 per night, paid through the envelope system, so make sure to bring cash. Stores providing wood, s’mores and drinks are all within a short walk.
